Police have released a new appeal for a witness to come forward following a motorway crash which killed two Ryanair pilots.
Captain Matt Greenhalgh, aged 28, and senior first officer Jamie Fernandes, aged 24, were travelling to Liverpool John Lennon Airport in a taxi when they were caught in a fatal crash on the M62 on Thursday, July 11.
The crash, involving two lorries and a car on the westbound carriageway between junction 8 and junction 7, occurred at approximately 5.31am.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries where police say he remains.

Now, Cheshire Constabulary is looking to speak to a witness who was seen cycling along a nearby road as the crash took place.
According to the force, a person was captured on CCTV cycling along Burtonwood Road in the direction of Burtonwood village as the crash took place on the M62 underneath.
Police say the person appears to be wearing a dark coat and possibly a cap, with the hood up on the coat.

Detective Sergeant Russ Sime said: “This cyclist may have witnessed the collision as they cycled across the bridge over the M62, so we’re urging them to get in touch with us as we continue with our enquiries.”
The driver of one of the two lorries, a 61-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
