Police have revealed their priorities in the north of Bolton which include anti-social behaviour, shoplifting and motoring offences.

The figures for vehicle and burglary crimes in the spot for June and the start of July have also been released.

Officers have said they will target youth antisocial behaviour in Astley Bridge at the junction of Crompton Way and Moss Bank Way towards Oldhams Estate during evenings.

They have also said shoplifting in Breightmet and Tonge Moor will be addressed after multiple offences were committed at the retail park at the top of Bury Road and the Co-Op, Heron Foods and Matalan on Tonge Moor Road.

Police are also continuing to work on Operation Classify, which looks at speeding and other traffic offences on Blackburn Road, Moss Bank Way, Bury Road and Halliwell Road.

Police have revealed that the neighbourhood team has charged three people after thefts in Breightmet.

A police spokesperson said: “Following multiple reports of shoplifting around the Breightmet area, the neighbourhood team have arrested three people, responsible for hundreds of pounds worth of thefts over the last couple of months.

“This has resulted in 29 charges between them.”

The latest figures also show that vehicle crime is high in Halliwell and Breightmet.

In the first of these there were 19 vehicle crimes and in the second there were 15.

There were also 15 burglaries in Halliwell and ten in Breightmet.

The next worst area for crime was Tonge and the Haulgh where there were six burglaries and nine vehicle crimes.

In Bradshaw there were four burglaries and three vehicle crimes, in Bromley Cross there were two offences and four vehicle crimes, in Astley Bridge there were five burglaries and eight vehicle crimes.

Elsewhere in Crompton West there were two burglaries and three vehicle crimes and in Crompton East and Hall I’th Wood there were seven burglaries and three vehicle offences.
