A planned children's home will not go ahead after its planning appeal was withdrawn.
Plans were submitted to the council in November for a six-bedroom house on Sharples Hall Fold in Astley Bridge.
MRG Health Ltd wanted to turn the property into a children's home, with a maximum of two youngsters at any one time staying there on a residential basis.
However, an appeal was made to the Planning Inspectorate in March against the council's non-determination of the application.
Now, the appeal has been withdrawn.

On the Planning Inspectorate website, the case listing states "Status: Complete: Appeal Withdrawn".
The home would have seen children staying there on a medium to long term and the structure of the building would not have been changed.
The ground floor would have been used as an office, a communal lounge and a multipurpose room.
The first floor would have had a communal lounge, kitchen diner, shared bathroom, a children’s bedroom and a bedroom for staff.
The second floor would have contained a children’s bedroom and an additional children’s bedroom.
