Police have been stepping up patrols after a spate of anti-social behaviour (ASB) problems.

Officers started at St John’s CE Primary School in Radcliffe to deliver an assembly on how children can keep themselves safe this summer.

Speaking to outgoing Year Six and Year Five students, police discussed online safety, knife crime, ASB, going missing and much more.

A police patrol was carried out with housing association Irwell Valley Homes on the Victoria Street estate, as well as the Water Street and Water Lane flats.

The visits to residents were conducted in an effort to solve the issues, such as finances, housing and crime.

This was followed by a joint visit to St John’s Court where a flat search took place and was secured due to concerns of drug use and ASB there.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police Radcliffe added: “Whilst on the way back to the office, a driver was observed using their mobile phone.

“The offence was blatant, and dangerous.

“The vehicle was stopped on Manchester Road and the driver given a traffic offence report.”
