A shirtless man punched the rear window of a police car earlier this week when a minority of England fans caused damage and disruption.
This came when police were called out to the AO Arena in Manchester at just before 10.30pm on Wednesday July 10 after England’s Euros clash with Holland.
Officers say that a crowd of fans travelling along Trinity Way blocked the road, surrounding people’s car before then surrounding their police car and banging on the windows.
PC Reynolds, of Greater Manchester Police’s Road Policing Unit, said: "Although many fans who attended the football screening had a good time, unfortunately, a very small minority have not attended with the same intentions and damaged a police vehicle.
"Those responsible have shown a blatant disregard towards our communities and our ability to service emergency calls.
“Thankfully, no officers or members of the public were injured during this incident.”
Officers say that as they tried to clear the fans, a shirtless man ran at their car and punched the rear window, smashing it and causing damage to the rear light cluster.
Another man was seen kicking at the back of the car.
