A COFFEE chain that has exponentially spread across the north west has celebrated its "incredibly positive" launch in Leigh.

Launched by brothers Chris and Stephen Shelmerdine, the Coffee House has opened 23 coffee shops across the north west since its first opening in Lymm in 2011.

At a time when many high streets and big-name brands have struggled, the Coffee House has been thriving after providing a bespoke design, warm atmosphere, and varied menu in each of its shops.

Following the closure of Caffe Dolce in Leigh's Spinning Gate Shopping Centre, the Coffee House has taken up this unit and launched its 23rd shop at the end of June.

Not far from the Coffee House's central hub in Warrington, Leigh was chosen as another location that the team believes will benefit from a high-quality independent coffee chain.

As well as creating new job opportunities in Leigh, the Coffee House also provides a selection of hand-roasted coffees, freshly baked cakes, and a range of fresh food options.

With a comfortable inside and outside seating area, the Spinning Gate store also has unique design elements including Pennington Flash and Leigh Spinners Mill murals.

While the coffee shop has only been open for a few weeks, store manager John says that business has been "incredibly positive" and that the team has received a "warm welcome" from Leythers.

John said: "The response has surpassed our expectations, and we're excited about our future here.

"We have a steady flow of customers eager to enjoy our offerings [as well as] many returning customers, which is a testament to the great feedback we've received during our first few weeks.

"The store has quickly developed a strong community atmosphere, which is something we’re proud to foster."

Speaking about the Coffee House brand, founder Chris Shelmerdine, added: “We pride ourselves on creating an authentic local coffee shop experience.

"Our customers aren’t just visitors, they’re part of our extended family. Whether they’re here for work, catching up with friends, or enjoying a moment of solitude, they know they’ll be greeted with a warm smile and their favourite cup of coffee.

"As we approach our company's 13th anniversary at the end of July, we’re excited about our expansion plans. Leigh marks our 23rd store opening and the 4th new store of 2024 and we’re gearing up for our 24th store opening in Stockton Heath.

"[With the Coffee House], we create vibrant community spaces. We find great units, often ones that have been empty for a long time, and build spaces that people want to spend time in.

“Our growth will not compromise on quality, all in pursuit of long-term perfection.”
