A main road in Farnworth was taped off today with a forensic tent erected after a serious incident.
The pathway on Buckley Lane in Farnworth was partially taped off with a blue forensic tent after reports of a serious incident.
Local residents said that the scene had been in place for most of the day with one reporting they had seen it on their way to work at 6am.

The cordon was set up in front of three houses and opposite The Bridgewater Hotel.
A second cordon was in place at an alleyway just off Buckley Lane.

It seemed that not many people in the area were aware of what incident had taken place.
A passerby said that he lives around the back of Buckley Avenue.
He said: “I’ve no idea what’s happened. I only noticed it when I tried to take my dog for a walk and the side ginnel on Prospect Avenue was cordoned off.”

It’s currently still unclear what the nature of the incident is however Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further information.
There have been unconfirmed reports that it is connected to a fight that broke out, however we are waiting for more information on this.
