Watch manager, Howard Denton, retired at Horwich Fire Station after 27 years of service, following previous Royal Navy service.
He was originally posted to Stretford Fire Station, moved to Bolton Central, then training school in Manchester, Crompton Way Fire Station.
He ends his career surrounded by crew and colleagues.
