Birthday cake won’t be on the menu when one of Bolton’s most successful businesses celebrates an important first birthday today ( July 11th).
Instead, Carrs Pasties will randomly be giving away 50 pasties to mark the anniversary of its Middlebrook outlet.
Joe Carr, director at Carrs Pasties said: “We can’t believe it’s been a year already since we opened the doors to our Middlebrook shop. Time has flown by and we are filled with pride to see how well the shop has been received.
“It’s been great to see new and familiar faces walking through the door and we look forward to continuing being a part of the Middlebrook community.”
Throughout tomorrow, lucky customers will be given meat and potato, cheese or more cheese, ham and chilli jam pasties. The latter, inspired by Wallace and Gromit, was launched last year in partnership with Aardman.

Bolton-based business 'hopeful' for the country under a change of government
The 86-year-old family business opened the shop at Middlebrook, it’s fourth in Bolton, in 2023.
The unit was previously an EE shop, and it took 48 days to transform into a bakery complete with ovens, a freezer, fridges and counters.
Bolton Wanderers legend, John McGinlay, attended with mascot Lofty the Lion to celebrate the opening.
Along with the core range of pasties, products available include breakfast barms, freshly made sandwiches and salads, pasty barms, soft drinks, hot drinks and a variety of confectionery products.
Carrs Pasties currently has three other shops in Bolton, the Original Shop on Halliwell Road, the Market Place Shop at Market Place Shopping Centre and the Bakery Shop on Manchester Road.
The bakery recently extended its current bakery which opened in 1975 to allow for more capacity. Customers can order pasties for local and nationwide delivery, click & collect online.
The company also provides an event catering service in which pasties can be delivered to the venue. One of the newest services is the Pasty Van which holds up to 400 pasties and can visit workplaces, weddings and functions where staff will serve pasties and other products.
