An appeal has launched after plans for houses on a former golf range in Bolton were once again rejected earlier this year.
Multiple efforts have been made to build homes at the Kearsley Golfing Range.
Earlier this year applicants Michael and Wendy Warburton launched plans to build seven houses at the spot near Moss Lane.
The proposal would have involved the demolition of the golf range.
In a statement they said they had a balanced approach which would make a “positive contribution to the local community.”
They said: “The proposed development represents a balanced approach that considers the special circumstances surrounding the closure of the golf driving range and the evolving needs of the community.
“It aligns with local policies, provides economic sustainability, and reduces the environmental impact through thoughtful design.
“This balanced approach within a green belt, reflects a commitment to sustainability, environmental preservation, and a community-responsive development which makes a positive contribution to the local community.”

But the plans were rejected by Bolton Council.
A decision stated: “The proposed development comprises inappropriate development in the Green Belt, and by virtue of its location, amount and land use would cause significant harm to the openness of the Green Belt.
“The proposals fail to assist in safeguarding the countryside from encroachment, one of the five purposes of the Green Belt, and would therefore not comply with the fundamental aim of Green Belt policy to prevent urban sprawl by keeping land permanently open.
“The applicant has provided justification or potential benefits which would not outweigh the harm and therefore very special circumstances do not exist.”
But now an appeal has been launched against the refusal.
The appeal has gone to the planning inspectorate, who have confirmed that the appeal is valid.
They have also said they are waiting for a suitable planning inspector to become available to determine this.
