Over Hulton Heritage Group will be stepping back to wartime Bolton at its monthly talk.
One Wednesday, July 10, Julie McKiernan and Corrie Shelley will be presenting 'No Bravery without Fear' in play form.
A spokesman for the group said: "The superb double act of Julie and Corrie give us a penetrating insight into local history in the time of WW1.
Feel your emotions sway from side to side as these two ladies put the case - over hanging out their washing - of what constitutes bravery and what cowardice! Who is right? Who is wrong?"
He added: “Louie and Annie are neighbours who normally get along but they've recently had a bit of a fall out. Louie thinks Tyldesley man, Arthur Turtle had the right idea refusing to fight in WW1 but Annie thinks he was a coward and should have followed the example of Leigh man, Alfred Wilkinson who won a VC for his bravery under fire.
"We join them in their pinnies in their back yards as they air their dirty laundry with typical northern directness. Expect historical facts delivered with sarcasm, onstage actions and a whiff of Lux washing powder. No expenses spared in this dramatic presentation with a full size washing line and washing!”
They two will take to the stage at 7pm at Over Hulton Conservative Club.
