Police conducted speed checks in Bolton today to keep its roads safe as part of an ongoing operation.
Officers from GMP's Bolton North Neighbourhood Team were around the Halliwell and Smithills areas, on Elgin Street and Ivy Road, keeping traffic in check with speed guns.
The checks come as part of Operation Classify, which targets deaths and injury on high-risk roads in the town.

A spokesperson for the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team said: "Operation Classify. Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have been conducting speed enforcement around Elgin Street in Crompton and Ivy Road in Smithills as part of our commitment to make the roads in Bolton safer."
Operation Classify was announced in February in efforts to reduce deaths and injuries in the borough.
According to GMP, the borough saw 71 serious collisions in 2022, with nine fatalities – with the trend continuing into 2023.
