Those with a taste for quality, value and first-class service already know why Hunters the Bakers is a must-visit.
But this Saturday the Church Road corner shop is encouraging newcomers to discover its unique charms for themselves.
From 8.30am until stock is sold out, every delicious item – from sourdough loaves to deliciously refreshing lemon cheesecake slices – will cost just £1!
And as if that is not temptation enough, the 119-year-old establishment will give a £10 voucher to the first 100 customers, which they can use any time in August.
“We’re aiming to raise awareness and ring the changes,” explained owner Alicia Barlow.
“Some people have a fixed perception of what a shop like this offers, so we’re hoping to surprise and amaze them with our vast range.”
Hunters prides itself on its locally-sourced ingredients and traditional methods, as well as its modern updates on classic favourites.
“We still make things like Manchester tarts and vanilla slices, which never go out of fashion, but we’ve linked up with Bella’s Bakes who make cakes with a twist. It’s the perfect blend of old and new.”
The Smithills business has also developed an enviable reputation after its upgrade to premier products, which includes an impressive and extensive range of artisan breads.
“Saturday’s event is a chance for everyone to come along and see what we do, and to find out more about our ethos,” said Alicia.
