A cyclist was taken to hospital after a crash in Daubhill yesterday evening.

Emergency services were called to St Helens Road at 6.40pm.

The road was shut throughout the evening reopening just after 10 pm as police launched an investigation into the crash, which involved a car.

The cyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital, but police say his injuries were "minor". 

No arrests have been made, but police enquiries are ongoing.

A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 6.40pm last night, Wednesday, July 3, we were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a cyclist on St Helens Road in Bolton.

"A man in his 40s was taken to hospital with minor injuries and no arrests have been made.

"Enquiries are ongoing." 

The crash comes over a week after a fatal accident on the same road.

Karen Kimblin, who was in her 60s, died from her injuries during the crash.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with that incident, with the investigation ongoing.
