Historic Bolton band will perform its summer concert in the beautiful setting of Bolton Parish Church this weekend.

Eagley Band will stage its Riverdance concert on Saturday, with scores of tickets sold.

Musical Director Chris Wormaldsaid: "With just seconds to go in the match, it looked like England were certain to be knocked out of the tournament and none of us wanted that. Having sold hundreds of tickets for our concert this Saturday we're all feeling incredibly lucky that we can watch the whole of England v Switzerland at 5pm and still have a great concert at 7.30pm. We were worried England might have to play at 8pm!"

As a registered UK charity, tickets for the Eagley concert are just £5 and can be bought on the door.

Bolton based Eagley Band was formed in 1850 and is one of the oldest, but most modern, brass bands in the world.

Founded within Bolton’s Eagley Mills the band was known as Eagley Mills Band for over 120 years until 1971 when sadly the mills closed down and the band became known simply as Eagley Band.

The band has enjoyed many competition, concert and broadcasting highlights, the most recent of which came just months ago in November 2023 when it was asked to perform at the Bolton Wanderers FC stadium to welcome home local celebrity Vernon Kay for BBC Children In Need.
