Police and fire crews attended after a crash involving a car, van and tanker vehicle earlier today.
A blue Mercedes C300h car had crashed over the central divider on the bridge linking Bradford Street and Bridgeman Place, while a black Renault van had gone into a traffic light on the east side of the bridge.
No casualties were reported following the incident.
Firefighters were called to the scene of the three-vehicle crash just after 6.20pm.
Greater Manchester Police was also in attendance.
Photos taken by an eyewitness appear to show the blue Mercedes colliding with a tanker vehicle in the opposite carriageway.

The incident left a westbound traffic lane and the westbound cycle path blocked while the vehicles were being recovered.
A recovery vehicle arrived on the scene just after 8.20pm in order to recover the blue Mercedes car, with a second recovery vehicle arriving around 20 minutes later.
Engineers worked at the scene to disconnect a traffic light which had been knocked over by the black Renault van to ensure it could be safely removed.
