A one-minute silence will be held this evening to mark one week since a Bolton woman was killed in a crash.
Tributes have been left on St Helens Road after ‘caring and loving grandmother’ Karen Kimblin, who was in her 60s, died on Saturday, June 22.
More than 500 people have now signed a petition, set up by the Friends of Morris Green, which calls for action to tackle ‘poorly regulated roads’ in the area.
The petition can be viewed here.
Now, Friends of Morris Green admin Suzanne Westwell has called for a minutes’ silence to be held at 6.59pm tonight – exactly one week since the fatal crash.

Suzanne said she would encourage others to join and "reflect just how quick someone’s life can be taken away".
She added: “I’m not related to the person, but I know the family and I know how close they all are.
“It could have been anybody’s mum.”

Suzanne said a meeting with local councillors and police is due to be held soon following the incident, as she encouraged people to continue signing and sharing the petition.
She continued: “It doesn’t matter that this is predominantly Morris Green, it’s affecting the whole of Bolton.”
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the incident. Police have not issued a recent update.
Anyone with any information, CCTV, or dashcam footage is asked to call 0161 856 4741 quoting log number 2,759 of 22/06/24.
Information can also be shared with the force using GMP's LiveChat function on its website or via 101.
