Bolton Police have made a ‘hat-trick of arrests’ in a busy afternoon.

On Tuesday, June 18, officers from Bolton’s North Neighbourhood Team arrested a 35-year-old woman in Halliwell who was wanted for failing to appear at court before sighting a vehicle on Mossbank Way.

The vehicle was stopped and searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act and Class A drugs were found inside.

The driver of the vehicle, a blue Skoda Scala, tested positive for cocaine on a roadside drug test.

The driver, a 48-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs and for driving whilst under the influence of drugs.

The vehicle was seized on suspicion of being used in a crime and the man has since been charged.

Finally, police arrested a 57-year-old woman in Heaton on suspicion of breaching court bail.

She was transported to custody and has since been charged.

When vehicles are seized, those looking to reclaim them have 14 days to prove satisfactory ownership and to provide legitimate insurance at a police station, or their vehicle will be disposed of, according to GMP.

Vehicles can be scrapped or sold at auction.

When vehicles are sold at auction, drivers may be entitled to claim the proceeds of the sale if they can prove legitimate and satisfactory ownership within 12 months.
