New regular drop-in sessions have been set up to help people in need of advice.
The community advice sessions started up at Breightmet Library earlier in June and are now running weekly every Tuesday afternoon.
The area’s representatives have urged anyone who may be in need to attend and find out what kinds of services and support are available to them.
Cllr Sean Fielding, of Breightmet, said: “Since being elected I’ve fielded a lot of complex welfare benefit queries.
“Sometimes I can help but often I don’t have the expertise.
“Sometimes I can’t always help as quickly as people need it because of work commitments.
“Because of demand, the Breightmet councillors have used our local pot of funding to pay for Citizens Advice drop-in sessions at Breightmet Library.
“These are from 1pm to 6pm every Tuesday.”

The sessions are run by a community engagement officer from Citizens Advice Bury and Bolton and will be run on a drop-in basis with no need to make appointments.
This will work alongside other similar community advice sessions being run at various locations all around Bolton.
The drop events will be run every Tuesday at Breightmet Library on Breightmet Fold Lane.
