Police in Bolton have joined the council in a crackdown of illegal goods this week.

Officers have joined the Trading Standards team to track down places in Bolton where there are illegal goods placed such as illegal trading, and equipment.

A council spokesman said: "Trading Standards seized illegal goods from a Shisha bar in Bolton this week.

"Eighty illegal shisha pipes were recovered."

Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were "assisting" the council in the raids.

Also on Wednesday evening, police attended a business in Bolton town centre which was found to be operating "illegally".

Fines were handed out and equipment was seized.

A police spokesperson said: "Bolton South Neighbourhood team, working alongside trading standards officers, jointly attended a property in the town centre yesterday evening (Wednesday) after information suggested the business was not operating legally.

"As a result of the visit, the business was found to be operating illegally.

"Consequently, fines were issued and a large amount of equipment was seized from the premises."
