A charity football match in memory of Bolton popstar Tom Parker will be taking place this weekend with a host of celebs taking part.
Celebs will take to Dorking Wanderers’ pitch, Meadowbank Football Ground, on Sunday, June 16.
The charity match is in memory of Tom Parker, who died in 2022 of a brain tumour.
The event has been organised by wife, Kelsey Parker. It coincides with Father’s Day and all proceeds will be donated to the Tom Parker Foundation.
Alex Bain, who played Simon Barlow on Coronation Street for 15 years, is among the famous faces taking part.
He said: “I wanted to invite you all to Dorking Wanderers FC on Father’s Day for the Tom Parker family football match.
"It’s going to be a fantastic day out with a lot going on. Bring your family and friends, we will be raising money for charity.”
Other celebrities have also been announced as part of the line-up, including social media influencers Jim Chapman and Josh Pieters, and former Love Island contestant Adam Maxted.
The game kicks off at 1.30pm and tickets for the event are £7 for children and £12 for adults.
Tom found fame in band The Wanted, known for songs including Glad You Came, All Time Low, Heart and Lightning.
He died on March 30, 2022, at the age of 33, after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.
Parker’s bandmates Jay McGuiness, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Sykes served as pallbearers at the late singer’s funeral in April 2022.
Alex recently left the Coronation Street cobbled after 15 years on the show.
Alex, who played Simon Barlow on the show, said it has “been an honour” to act on the show.
Tickets can be purchased on the Dorking Wanderers’ website.
