A new exhibition celebrating 85 years of Batman is set to open this summer with tickets going on sale this week.

The Batman Unmasked experience will open in Manchester in July and will feature a huge showcase of original costumers, props and vehicles from the caped crusader’s history.

This will be the first time the material, taken directly from Warner Bros archives will be on display in the UK in an exhibition produced by the Lunar Entertainment Group.

A statement said: “Navigating through a series of themed rooms, visitors will venture into the world of Gotham City.

“Guests will take in the awe-inspiring Batsuits worn by iconic actors including Robert Pattinson, Christian Bale and Michael Keaton, alongside original props and memorabilia.

“In each city there will be a selection of original vehicles on display including the Tumbler and Batpod from ‘The Dark Knight’ and the Batmobile and Batcycle from ‘The Batman.’

“Travelling through walkways inspired by the various criminals of Gotham City, guests will arrive at The Rogue’s Gallery, a dark and mysterious space devoted to the DC supervillains Batman has faced through the years, including an array of suits, props and weapons like Uma Thurman’s Poison Ivy ensemble, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn costume, Jim Carrey’s Riddler outfit and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mr. Freeze suit.”

The exhibition will draw on films ranging from 1989’s Batman, 1995’s Batman Forever and 1997’s Batman and Robin.

It also moves into the modern era with 2005’s Batman Begins, 2008’s The Dark Knight, 2012’s The Dark Night Rises, 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017’s Justice League.

There will also be exhibits from 2019’s Joker and 2022’s The Batman before moving into the future.

The statement said: “Ahead of The Joker returning to the big screen this year in ‘Joker: Folie A Deux’, fans will also be able to see the red suit worn by Joaquin Phoenix in ‘Joker’ and the infamous nurses uniform worn by Heath Ledger in ‘The Dark Knight.’

“Throughout the Batman Unmasked experience, younger fans will also be able to explore the space and find hidden facts and will be able to capture the moment and remembering the day forever with several photo opportunities.

“At the end of the experience, guests will be able to enjoy a free-flow comic book and gaming area before purchasing exclusive Batman Unmasked merchandise at the retail store including special Batman 85th Anniversary items alongside classic Batman items.”

Ticket prices include discounted concession rates as well as savings for small groups of 4 or larger groups of 10.

The exhibition will open at Depot Mayfield in Manchester on July 16 and running until August 26.
