Deichmann has officially opened store in Market Place Centre

Deichmann opened its doors at 10am today, Tuesday, June 11, with customers gathering outside to see the new shop on the lower level of Market Place Shopping Centre.

The retail giant’s 493 sq/m site has undergone a £550,000 investment ahead of the opening of the store, located where The Market Place Emporium used to be housed, before it moved next to The Perfume Shop and River Island.

The opening has created nine new jobs in the area consisting of assistant and supervisor roles.

Customers were excited to see the new store opening and were given goodie bags on arrival.

Deichmann store has officially opened (Image: NQ) Store manager Carol Hodgetts said: “I am very excited, I think this is what Bolton needs because there are not many shoe shops in this town so I am hoping it will bring more custom to the town.

“While we have been setting the store up, we have had a lot of customers popping their head under and asking when are you open, what offers have you got on.

“The first couple of weeks we have 50 per cent off selected lines, we also have a sale on in store as well with 50 per cent off so we have got some really good bargains in our store.

“Customers need to come down and get shopping.”

Market Place Shopping Centre manager Rachel Townsend said: “We are all super excited that Deichmann has opened in the centre because it is bringing an additional footfall and a new customer base, and the actual fitout is absolutely stunning.

“So, I think it is going to bring in a really nice crowd into the shopping centre.

“We have had a really positive response from customers since they heard Deichmann was opening because I feel like it is an addition that we needed to have.”

Range of bags and sunglasses on offer (Image: NQ) A customer who eagerly waited to enter the new store said: “I am so excited Deichmann has opened in the centre, the new shop has so many shoes for all occasions. Hopefully it will bring more people into the town.”

Deichmann is currently celebrating the opening by presenting customers with in store offers on a select range of shoes such as 50 per cent off selected lines.

The Bolton store stocks a range of footwear for the whole family including exclusive lines from brands such as Adidas, Fila, Nike, Puma and Skechers.

These come with an ongoing price promise, ensuring that customers are matched on price, or they will be refunded the difference plus will receive an additional £1 back if they find an identical pair of branded shoes cheaper in any UK high street or online retailer.

Deichmann’s own brand shoes start at £4.99, with real leather products starting at £29.99.

The store will also celebrate the opening on Saturday, June 15 with in-store giveaways, offers and family fun activities throughout the day.

This includes free shoes for the store’s first 25 customers (up to £25), opening offers on a select range of shoes and a spin the wheel game with exclusive discounts and giveaways.
