Bolton’s own Paddy McGuinness played his part tonight as England beat the World XI 6-3 to earn their first Soccer Aid win since 2018.
The Phoenix Nights star came on as England goal keeper for the second half of a varied game.
The match, played at Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge in London, was once again being staged in aid of UNICEF and raised a total of £15m for the charity.
This took the total tally earned since the first Soccer Aid match in 2006 to more than £100m.
Celebrities and former footballers taking part also included Lee Mack, Tommy Fury, Tom Hiddleston, Danny Dyer, Frank Lampard, Sam Thompson.
Other familiar faces included former England footballer Jill Scott, musician Tom Grennan, Dragons’ Den star Steven Bartlett - who was named man of the match - Olympian Sir Mo Farah and The Last Leg’s Alex Brooker.
England have won five times since the fixture began in 2006 and their last victory until tonight came in 2018.

The Soccer Aid World XI FC have won the fixture seven times and are on a record five-year winning streak, ended with their defeat to England on Sunday.
This year’s match was hosted by UNICEF UK ambassador and This Morning presenter Dermot O’Leary with sports presenter and former footballer Alex Scott.
English broadcaster Sam Matterface returned as commentator, with Love Island narrator Iain Stirling on co-comms duty.
