A café which opened inside Bolton Library at the start of this year has been awarded top marks from food hygiene inspectors.

Café Crescent located on the ground floor of Bolton Library and Museum has received a rating of five out of five by food hygiene inspectors, the Food Standards Agency’s website states.

Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and the management of food safety, inspectors have awarded the new café on Le Mans Crescent a five after inspection on May 22.

The inspection report states the hygienic food handling is very good whilst the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and the management of food safety are good.

Rory O’Connor, manager at Café Crescent said: “It feels great to have received the rating, we have worked really hard to get the five stars, it has been a real team effort!
