Police say a car has been seized after a pursuit.

Officers say they came across the vehicle on patrol in Tonge Moor.

They say once it had been clocked the driver made off but was later seen coming off Crompton Way and then heading in the direction of Bury Road.

A spokesperson for GMP Bolton North explained what then took place.

He  said: "It was then later sighted by the same officers coming off Crompton Way towards Bury Road, again, it made off at high speed away from police.

"A short pursuit ensued and after disappearing on Dorchester Avenue, decided to pull over for us.

They added: "The driver and vehicle were searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act and subsequently arrested for possession of cannabis, drug driving and driving without insurance."
