One review, from Dharmesh Lad, said it is a "nice, big place" with a "good selection of dishes", and that portion sizes were good. He gave it four stars. 

Another review, from Luke McGill, described the pub as having "always been brilliant", being a "great place for a pint after work" as well as somewhere you can "grab some really nice food" - he rated it five stars.

Hungry Horse: Red Lion, Over Hulton - 3.7 stars from 1,807​ reviews

Reviewer Angela Travers gave it five stars - she said she and her family went to the Red Lion on Mother's Day, with "every one" of them enjoying their meals. 

David Wild said it is a "nice, family friendly pub" with good food, but added that the portion size of "some" of the food "wasn't great". He gave the Red Lion four stars.

Tina G said the pub has "great food and amazing staff", who "go beyond what is expected" and gave it five stars. 

Cameron Abercrombie gave the Flag four stars, saying it has "friendly staff" and a "happy warm environment", but adding that it "could do with some TLC".

Danny Monks said he was "very impressed by how clean, fresh and welcoming" the pub felt, adding that the food and a coffee was "lovely". He gave it five stars. 

Laura Ledbetter gave it four stars, saying it was "lovely and clean" and the staff were "welcoming and friendly. However, she was less impressed with the food, with her mixed grill, albeit well-presented, having "quite dry and tasteless" meat.

Andrew Hamar gave the Rose and Crown four stars, calling it a "great little pub with great food" and adding it is "one of the best mixed grills" he had had. 

Another four star rating came from David Stedman, who said the pub had a "good selection" and "cheapish meals", with friendly staff.

Carl James Banks gave the pub five stars, saying it is a "great place for kids" with its wacky warehouse facility, as well as providing "great" food and "nothing (being) too much trouble" for the staff. 

Wes said staff were "very pleasant and friendly" and the food was "delicious", with a generous portion size for the carvery. His only gripe was for the pub to "please wipe down the menus". He gave it four stars.

Maxine Walker said the pub was "fantastic value for money" and the staff are "very friendly". She rated it five stars. 

Steven Mason gave a four star rating, calling the Robin Hood "pleasant" and having a "great atmosphere", saying he had been made to feel "so welcome".

JesusIsMySaviour3 described it as a "really nice pub with great food and service" and praised the scenery and atmosphere. They gave it five stars. 

Another reviewer, Kirsty Gorman, said the Hare and Hounds is a "really lovely pub with good food", is a "good size" and has a "decent drink selection". She gave it four stars.
