Two Bolton men have been charged after Greater Manchester Police seized drugs worth millions in Cheetham Hill.

In November 2022, GMP’s Operation Vulcan executed a warrant at a premises on Rugby Street in Cheetham Hill and recovered two million pounds worth of prescription drugs, which has been described as the largest single seizure of prescription drugs in the UK to date.

Soraya Smedley, 33 of Deane Road, Bolton, and Khes Smedley, aged 42, of Deane Road, Bolton, have both been charged with conspiracy to supply class B drugs, conspiracy to supply class C drugs, and conspiracy to conceal criminal property.

A total of nine people have been charged with the same offences.

All involved will next appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 23.

  • Shafika Sodawala, aged 41, of Woodlands Road, Manchester.
  • Shama Siddique, 54, and Danish Siddique, 22, both of Beckenham Road, Manchester.
  • Ali Imran Usmani, aged 49, of Egerton Road South, Manchester.
  • Mustafa Khan, aged 53, of Coppleridge Drive, Manchester.
  • Jonathan Clowes, aged 30, of Uppermill Drive, Manchester.
  • Abdul Yaro, aged 40, of Wilmslow Road, Cheadle.
