Armed police were mobilised to a country lane after a crash involving a deer.
The collision happened yesterday (Sunday, June 2) morning, with officers were seen on George’s Lane in Horwich at around 10.30am.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing four vehicles at the scene, off Chorley Old Road, and it has been confirmed by Greater Manchester Police that armed police had to attend the scene due to an animal being involved in the crash.
The road was partially cordoned off for a short while.

The force confirmed that an armed response vehicle attended the scene.
GMP says the deer was able to return to its natural home following the collision.
No police action was required after the incident and George's Lane was fully reopened later on Sunday morning.
