A Bolton soap star will undertake a unique challenge later this month for charity.
Natalie Amber, better known as Shelly on Coronation Street, will be rolling from Bolton to Blackpool on June 29 for the MND Association.
MND is a rare condition which affects the brain and nerves, and eventually leads to death.
Symptoms, which get worse over time, include muscle weakness, twitches, slurred speech and difficulty swallowing.
Natalie learnt more about the devastation the disease causes through her character's storyline, in which she became friends with Paul Foreman, played by Peter Ash, who was recently diagnosed with MND in the soap.
Now, the disabled actress has launched the challenge 'Roll and Raise'. It will see her make the 41-mile journey staring at the Bolton Arena, and people are being encouraged to join her.

Natalie said: "Bringing MND awareness month to end, Roll and Raise is a fun inclusive fundraiser where we are inviting people to join us and ride with your wheels from Bolton to Blackpool.
"Anyone can take part and join us on or as little of the route as they want, and on any form of wheels. It can be an electric wheelchair, bike, scooter... whatever works for you!
"All we ask is that you help us raise as much money as possible, and for people to shout out loud for MND on the socials.
"We finish up coming down the beachfront at Lytham St Ann’s finishing at Blackpool tower and would love to see a crowd at the finish line.”
People are being encouraged to do all or part of the journey any way they would like, as long as it’s on wheels - be it by bike, wheelchair, scooter, roller skates or even something more unusual.

Regional Fundraiser for the MND Association, Dominic McDonough, said: “We are absolutely honoured that Natalie has chosen to organise this incredible challenge which will bring people together to raise money and awareness to fight this terrible disease.
"Natalie has gone above and beyond to support the cause and it really means so much to us. Now we’ll be crossing our fingers for the weather and wishing everyone the very best of luck!”
