PD Eddie sprung into action after reports of two males at Royal Bolton Hospital with a suspicious package.
Officers discovered drugs and a knife in the package, which they said the pair were trying to hide at the hospital.
The incident took place last week and arrived with police dog Eddie.

A spokesman for the tactical dog unit posted on social media: "Call received from Bolton Hospital about two sus males who had been seen to try and hide a package within the hospital.
"XD arrive and sight one suspect who makes off and is detained by PD Eddie.
"Found within the package were drugs, mobile phones, SIM cards and a knife."
