The best village for days out near Bolton is Rivington in Lancashire, according to our readers. Rivington Pike, a popular walking trail, was also mentioned.
One local said: “get yourself up to Rivington if you drive and have a walk around lower bar upper bar the terrace Gardens etc x plenty of lovely walking spaces a picnic but also take coats just in case”.
