This relatively early photo from the archives shows the centre of Little Lever in 1932.

The Bolton News: Little Lever 1932

Known as both Coronation Square and, at the time this photo was taken Victoria Square, modern day High Street runs off into the distance with Mytham Road going off to the right.

The majority of buildings you can see around the cobbled square have long disappeared - as have the sets. Although the building behind the bus with its distinct frontage and double height windows remains.

Next to it, on the right, there appears to be a pub advertising Hamer’s Ales.

Can anyone identify which pub it was? Email bygones@nqnw.co.uk or leave a comment if you can help.
