A “multi-vehicle crash” has closed a section of motorway, with road users warned to expect delays.
The crash is believed to have happened last night, Tuesday May 28, on the M6 between junction 14 in Stafford and junction 15 in Stoke.
As of the early hours of the morning of Wednesday May 29, National Highways have warned that though the junction has been reopened there are still delays of up to 30 minutes.
A statement said: The M6 is now open northbound between J14 Stafford and J15 Stoke following an earlier traffic collision.
“There are 30 minute delays on the approach to J14 and approximately three miles of congestion.
“Thank you for your patience.”
National Highways reported that at around 6.30am on Wednesday morning the road had been reopened.
The crash is believed to have happened on the evening of Tuesday May 28, with National Highways warning at around 9.12pm that the section of motorway had been closed.
A statement said: “The M6 in Staffordshire is closed northbound between J14 Stafford and J15 Stoke due to a multi vehicle collision.
“Central Motorway Police Group and National Highways Traffic Officers are in attendance.”
Delays reached highs of 45 minutes and road diversions were put in place.
