A photograph posted by GMP’s Bury North team appears to show a destroyed car on Bury Old Road, with skid marks extending over the pavement.
On the main carriageway, a police car can be seen stopped just before Langley Gardens.
The driver has been arrested for burglary, aggravated burglary, aggravated taking without the owner’s consent, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, dangerous driving, being unfit to drive (drugs and alcohol), and failing to stop for police.

On Facebook, GMP’s Bury North team said: “Officers from the E relief response shift today got behind this vehicle which had a male onboard who was wanted for some very serious offences; it was located thanks some great local knowledge from the Whitefield neighbourhood team.”
The force added: “Thankfully, despite the damage to the stolen vehicle and other vehicles nobody suffered any injuries!
“He has also been recalled to prison and will be dealt with for these offences prior to that happening!”
