A busy roundabout lane was closed off this morning and there were long delays after a car overturned.

Emergency services were called at around 6.30am this morning to reports of a car which had overturned after hitting the railings on the roundabout on Snyndale Way on the A58 underneath junction five of the M61.

There were no injuries reported.

Delays happened as police worked to move the vehicle out of the road with the traffic backed up until around 10.30am.

Whilst the incident was ongoing, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called at around 6.30am to reports of a vehicle that has hit the railings and overturned.

"There are no injuries, but because the vehicle is in the middle of the road it is causing some obstruction.

"Fire are also at the scene."

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At just before 6.30am today (Friday May 24) one fire engine from Bolton fire station was called to reports of a car on its roof on Snydale Way, Bolton.

“Firefighters made the scene safe and were in attendance for around 10 minutes.”

Traffic is now back to normal traffic conditions.
