Amir Khan says he is relieved his wedding venue has finally opened, with bookings coming in fast.
The Balmayna officially opened its doors on Saturday, May 18 with its first wedding, and is set to eventually create up to 500 jobs.
The wedding venue by Bolton boxer Amir Khan, and run by the Excellency Plaza, is situated on Washington Street in Deane, and offers luxury dining, chauffeur service, musicians, a shisha bar rooftop and more.
Amir has since spoken about the costs, after spending £12.5million on The Balmayna over the years.
He said: "It's a great feeling obviously, the wedding hall is now open and had its first wedding.
"It is time to put the negativity away."
The bookings have been coming in fast for the wedding venue since the opening was announced earlier this year, with businesses also calling up to hold their dinner events at the venue.
Amir said: "The booking sheet is full now and so many people are calling.
"I think there will be more interest and I truly believe it is one of the best wedding venues in the country and I believe it will do well.
"Maybe one day we'll do a boxing event there as well, that would be amazing.
"It's all about giving back to the community too and doing something for them.
"And having around 500 people working there at some point at the wedding hall, which will be amazing and I am happy to be able to do this for Bolton."
Amir is currently in Dubai, but cannot wait to come back and see the venue for himself.

He said: “I have always spent on the place, I know that, but look, I could have picked somewhere like Manchester or London and my return on this will be very little compared to how much I have spent on this.
"When someone walks into that place, they're like wow, we love this place.
"I am proud that it has opened, but it is a big relief off my shoulders too.
"All that pressure, as I didn't know when it was going to open and how it was going to open to again, a big thank you to Excellency for coming in and managing the weddings.”
