A resident who lives in the area but didn’t want to be named said: “I was walking past with my son and dog to the childminders when I heard the loudest bang and screech.
“I turned round behind us to see two cars had crashed, one with the wheel completely bent hanging off.
“Both drivers got out, everyone seemed uninjured. I walked home 15 minutes later when the fire brigade was there.”
Another resident said people living on Crown Lane have wanted traffic calming measures for some time.
They said: “I’ve not seen a crash like this for a while but myself and other residents on the road have been asking for traffic calming measures for some time.”
