A popular high street retailer is moving into the Market Place Shopping Centre – and it has confirmed the opening date is next month.

Leading shoe shop Deichmann is to open in Bolton town centre on Tuesday, June 11.

Deichmann, known for ‘selling quality footwear at an affordable price’ revealed at the start of April that it is to open a store in the shopping complex with signage put up last month.

The shoe store will be moving into where the Market Emporium was located, which has now been relocated next door to River Island.

And now, a spokesperson has confirmed the opening date.

They said: “The opening date has been confirmed for June 11.”

An opening sale will officially mark the opening of the new store with customers receiving a limited opening sale offer of 50 per cent off.

The offer will apply to selected lines and whilst stocks last.

A customer shopping in the Market Place said: “The opening can’t come quick enough, I have been shopping in the centre and popping in to see if it was open yet, so I can’t wait for it to open next month.”

The news of the opening also comes as a new store is set to move into another unit, although the name of the store is being kept under wraps.

Signage has been put up in the windows of the former Flannels unit with the possibility of something also opening there in the not-so-distant future.

Primark is set to open in the Market Place in the former Debenhams unit in late 2024/early 2025 depending on construction works.

Last year the clothing retail giant announced it was planning to move its store from Crompton Place to the Market Place Shopping Centre.
