A man in his 20s has been arrested after a crash between two vehicles yesterday afternoon, May 19.
Emergency services were called at around 4.30pm to reports of a collision on Bradshaw Road.
The occupants of both vehicles were taken to hospital with injuries that were described as not life-changing or life-threatening.
According to police a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He remains in police custody for questioning.
Police cordoned off the busy junction which links Turton and Tottington for around five hours with it re-opened just after 9pm.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 4.30pm yesterday afternoon (Sunday 19 May 2024), we were called to reports of a road traffic collision between two vehicles on Bradshaw Road, Bolton.
“Occupants of both vehicles were taken to hospital with injuries that were described as not life-changing or life-threatening.
“A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody for questioning.”

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 4.20pm today (Sunday 19 May), fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Bradshaw Road, Bolton.
“Two fire engines from Bolton Central and Bolton North quickly attended the incident which involved two vehicles.
“Two casualties self-extricated prior to arrival and crews used specialist equipment to extricate one other.
“Crews worked with colleagues from North West Ambulance Service to assess casualties and make the area safe.
“Firefighters were in attendance for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.”
One resident who lives in the area said: “This is a notoriously dangerous junction and it’s frankly scandalous improvements haven’t already been made.
“Someone ran a campaign a few years ago after a series of RTCs but zero action. Hope there are no serious injuries.”
