Part of a major road running through Bolton will be closed overnight at the end of this month whilst vital works take place.

St Peter’s Way on the A666 southbound carriageway will be closed between the hours of 9pm and 5am on May 31.

The closure will prohibit all traffic from proceeding on the A666 St Peter’s Way southbound carriageway from the Moses Gate slip road to Kearsley roundabout, to allow bridge works to take place.

An alternate route for traffic will be via Manchester Road and Farnworth to allow motorists to travel around the area with ease.

Council officials say they want to apologise for any inconvenience the closures may cause.
