Five people have been charged with shoplifting in Bolton.
The town's police’s shoplifting team arrested five people in relation to shoplifting and various other offences.
And they have now been charged with shoplifting offences.
Police want to let the public know they recognise the impact that shoplifting has on retail partners and the community travelling to Bolton, and they will continue to "robustly manage this area of policing".

The charges come on the same day that the neighbourhood shoplifting team took to the streets of Bolton town centre providing retail packs to businesses.
These packs contain useful information on crime prevention, and information on what details police will need to take a crime report.
There are also contact details for partner agencies which may be able to assist with issues that those in retail face regularly, such as begging, anti-social behaviour and homelessness.
If any businesses would like a copy of the retail pack, they are asked to contact the local neighbourhood team or visit a police station.
