Bolton schools are in the running to be crowned the best in the country.
St Peter's CE Primary School in Farnworth and Bolton School have been shortlisted in this year's TES Awards.
The awards, which have been dubbed the ‘Oscars of education’, are designed to celebrate the best of education across the UK.
Lynn said she is set to retire this year, so the nominations have been a great end to her career.
She said: “We have been shortlisted for two awards, we have been shortlisted for Primary School of the Year and as an individual I have also been shortlisted for Headteacher of the Year.

“And this is just an absolute honour because this will be the year that I retire, I have been headteacher here for 18 years and this is the year that I am going to retire so actually to receive two nominations at the end of my career here at St Peter's is just the icing on the cake of a wonderful career that I have served across Bolton really.
“It is an award for the community, to be nominated as Headteacher of the Year that is wonderful but to be nominated for Primary School of the Year, that is an award for the entire community, the staff, the parents, the children, the governors.
“And to be honest I would prefer to win that one because I just think that brings the whole team together, that is the one that says as a school we are all working in the same direction for the benefit of the community.”
The school’s arts and culture impact is reflected in examination results, participation in optional certifications and competitions, and high engagement in co-curricular and community enrichment activities.
Head of Foundation at Bolton School, Philip Britton, said: “I am delighted that our work in this field has been recognised. Creative opportunities help young people understand the world around them.
“As well as the benefits these activities bring for our own pupils, we have very deliberately focused on our outreach and connections to make an impact for all local students.”

Winners will be announced on June 21 at a gala awards night at the Grosvenor Hotel, Park Lane, in London.
