More than one-third of Bolton Council's seats are up for grabs in tonight's local elections, and we'll be bringing you the results as they come in.

Most wards are electing one candidate, with the candidate up for election based on whomever came third in last year's all-out elections.

That means a total of 11 Labour-held seats are up for grabs, with three Conservatives, three Liberal Democrats, two Horwich & Blackrod First councillors, and one independent all at risk of losing their seats.

Horwich North will be electing two councillors, after Horwich and Blackrod First councillor Craig Rotherham vacated his seat in March following a diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer's disease.

Here is the state of the seats as they are declared. Before results are declared, 17 Labour, 11 Conservatives, four Lib Dems, Four Horwich & Blackrod First, and four Farnworth & Kearsley First candidates are safe in the knowledge they'll retain their seats, with just 21 of the council's 60 seats up for election.
