TransPennine Express (TPE) are offering refunds to concertgoers affected the Co-op Live arena delays.
The train company is offering full refunds to customers impacted by the delays to the opening of the arena and will also still be running its extra late night service which had been planned to coincide with fans returning home from Olivia Rodrigo’s Friday night concert.
The Co-op Live arena's opening has been postponed after a fault stalled a gig by rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
Scheduled performances of Olivia Rodrigo's Guts World Tour on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4 have also been cancelled for now.
Darren Higgins, commercial Director for TPE, said: “We recognise that many of our customers will be affected by postponed events at the Co-op Live arena.
“We hope the decision to offer full refunds will provide some relief to those who have been impacted.
"We look forward to seeing them on our services once these events have been rescheduled.”
The refunds apply to those who purchased their train tickets directly through TPE or Trainline and will be provided without any administration charge.
This offer also applies to advance tickets which are not normally refundable.
Customers should present their concert ticket as proof that they are eligible for a refund.
Mr Higgins added: “Customers wishing to make alternative plans and an evening enjoying all Manchester has to offer can still travel on our planned late-night service.”
The service will depart from Manchester Victoria at 12.36am on Saturday, May 4. It will then call at Newton-Le-Willows and Lea Green before arriving at Liverpool Lime Street.
