Passengers have been left feeling curious today, April 29, after London and Glasgow trains were seen travelling through Bolton.
Trains are being diverted through Bolton for London Euston and Glasgow Central due to overhead line damage at Wigan North Western.
According to Avanti West Coast, trains between London Euston and Glasgow Central or Edinburgh may be diverted, cancelled or delayed due to damage to the overhead wires at Wigan North Western.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Trains that usually travel down the line from Wigan to Warrington and then onto and onto London are instead going through Bolton and Manchester before going south.
According to a passenger, the London Euston trains are not stopping in Bolton, just passing through.
To help keep passengers moving, replacement buses are running between Crewe, Warrington Bank Quay, Wigan North Western and Preston.
Avanti West Coast tickets will also be accepted on alternative routes with the following operators:
- Between Wigan and Manchester with Northern.
- Between Warrington Bank Quay and Manchester Piccadilly with Transport for Wales.
- Between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh with LNER.
- Between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street with ScotRail.
- Between Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly or Edinburgh with CrossCountry.
- Between Birmingham New Street and Rugby with West Midlands Railway.
- Between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street with West Midlands Railway.
- Any reasonable route with TransPennine Express.
