Plans have been launched to convert property above a Bolton town centre takeaway into bedsits.
Proposals have been put forward for a seven-person house of multiple occupation (HMO) on Bradshawgate.
There would be four bedrooms and a lounge on the first floor and three bedrooms and a lounge on the second floor.
The home would be above Popstar takeaway shop and would share a point of access with neighbouring eaterie Shah’s.
The proposal has been launched by property owner Gulzab Khan.
A statement on the plan has been prepared by agents RA Design & Project Management Ltd.
They argue that the plans should be approved quickly.
A planning document says: "This statement has set out the merits and acceptability of the proposed change of use of the first and second floors to a seven-bedroom HMO.
“The site is located within a highly sustainable location, where occupiers will be able to make use of the excellent public transport links that exist locally.
“The proposals will not result in any unacceptable impacts upon the design and character of the existing building, the surrounding area, highway safety nor amenity.
“The proposals are also acceptable from a heritage perspective.
“The applicant seeks to work proactively with the local planning authority and looks forward to positive discussions regarding the scheme.
“The application should be approved without delay.”

Nearby properties, including Shah’s, have been listed as neighbours who will be consulted about the proposal.
Shah's became at risk of losing its licence two years ago over concerns about violence.
But the council's licencing team allowed it to continue trading with certain conditions imposed.
These included having two security staff would be needed until 1am until closing time on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
They were also told the nearby taxi rank would have to be moved further up Bradshawgate to avoid disruption.
