The family of a "much-loved" father, grandfather and great-grandfather have paid tribute following a fatal crash at the weekend.
The collision occurred on Flapper Fold Lane in Atherton on Friday, April 12 at around midday.
A car was travelling along Flapper Fold Lane when it collided with a mobility scooter as it crossed the carriageway.
This resulted in the 88-year-old rider becoming unseated and knocked to the ground.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, Joe Shaw died in hospital later the same evening.
A 30-year-old woman was initially arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and driving a vehicle while under the influence of a specified drug following a positive roadside test. She has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
