Greater Manchester Police is investigating after reports of a man thought to be carrying a knife in Astley Bridge.
Members of the public say they saw a man with what they thought appeared to be a knife poking out from the top of a bag in the morning on Monday, April 15.
The alleged incident occured on Belmont Road just before 9am.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “GMP received a report of a man with a bladed article in a public place at around 8.50am.
“Officers attended the scene but no suspect was located. Enquiries are ongoing.”
