A new café has opened in Farnworth offering customers a ‘friendly and cosy atmosphere’.
Andy’s Café Bakery and Sweetbox opened this month on Brackley Street and is already proving to be popular with the local community.
The cafe has opened at the heart of a multi-million pound regeneration project to transform the area.
Svilen, 50, and Bilyana Konstantinov, 42, a couple who live on Morris Green Lane in Daubhill with their son Andy, eight, say their dreams have come true after setting up a café in the heart of the community.
And to show their son Andy dreams can come true, the couple named their café after their son who has special educational needs.
Bilyana, also known as Bily, said: “We feel excited about the opening and hope we have managed to create a pleasant atmosphere.
“My husband worked five years for Stateside Foods before he decided to leave to open the café and I work part-time as a catering assistant in a primary school.
“It has been a dream of ours for around three years, but it's not easy to make it happen.
“However, we managed to do it and we hope to show our child that he should not give up on following his dreams.

“We are both owners, I did all the design, interior and furnishing inside, but now only my husband works there.
“I will probably join him in the future, but for now I am staying off-site to take care of our child.
“My husband prepares and bakes all kinds of snacks that we offer on site.”
Bilyana said they chose to open in Farnworth due to the community.
She said: “The idea to open a cafe was born more than three years ago. We thought about it for a long time and were looking for a suitable place.
“We chose Farnworth because we think the community there is very nice and friendly, and that's exactly what we want for our cafe, a friendly and cosy atmosphere with nice people.
“Customer reviews are mostly positive. They like the setting, and they say it is a different, clean and nice place.”
Andy’s Cafe offers paninis, beef pastries, Greek style pastries, a wide range of cakes, biscuits and sweets, as well as hot and soft drinks.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 3pm, and closed on Sundays and bank holidays.
